The Line Cook position at the SRP Park location in North Augusta, SC, is a crucial role within Oak View Group’s food services and hospitality division. This part-time role offers an hourly wage between $13.00 and $18.00, with eligibility for tips, making it an attractive opportunity for culinary professionals seeking flexible work in a dynamic event-driven setting. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food items that meet company standards for freshness and presentation. The role demands a proactive approach to maintaining food safety, sanitation, and health standards, as well as the ability to operate various kitchen equipment, including broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and chef knives. The Line Cook must be a team player capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during events, and must demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability. Collaboration with culinary leadership such as the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Kitchen Supervisor is essential to ensure smooth kitchen operations, proper menu planning, and accurate estimation of food consumption based on event needs.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a cook or prep cook
  • Valid food handling certificate if required
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers and chef knives
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and guests
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Availability to work flexible, part-time hours including event schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe preferred

Job Duties

  • Responsible for providing high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product
  • Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
  • Responsible for portioning, arranging and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
  • Responsible for consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
