The position of Line Cook at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, located in Tallahassee, Florida, offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic culinary team within a celebrated venue. The Civic Center itself boasts a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space, and the Spotlight Grille arena-view restaurant. As the home to Florida State University’s Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, the venue is known for its vibrant and electric atmosphere that creates a fierce home court advantage. Beyond sports and music, the arena also hosts trade shows, large catered events, receptions, religious services, and educational classes, making it a versatile and bustling location.
The Line Cook role is a regular part-time position offering an hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $18.00. This position plays a crucial part in preparing and delivering high-quality food to guests attending various events across the venue. The successful candidate will have direct public interaction working in different settings such as buffet lines, station serving areas, and special events including suite catering for concerts or sporting matches. Monitoring kitchen equipment functionality and reporting any maintenance needs will also form part of the duties, alongside maintaining rigorous sanitation, health, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Garnishing and arranging food items attractively before service underscores the commitment to excellent guest experiences. Furthermore, the Line Cook will consult with executive kitchen leaders like the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Lead Line Cook to aid menu planning and estimate food consumption based on expected event attendance. This comprehensive role offers a blend of culinary craftsmanship, teamwork, and operational accountability within a renowned venue dedicated to providing premium entertainment and hospitality experiences.
