The part-time Line Cook position at the Arkansas Travelers venue is integral to delivering high-quality food service to guests throughout Dickey-Stephens Park. The role is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, event-driven environments and are passionate about food preparation and excellent guest service. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold food items for guests at concession stands and premium seating areas. Your duties will involve preparing cold prep items such as salads, slicing meats and vegetables, assembling charcuterie boards, and arranging veggie trays. You'll be operating various kitchen equipment, including broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, and meat slicers, ensuring that all menu items meet company recipes and portioning standards. In addition, you will be tasked with garnishing and presenting food plates attractively and ensuring meals are cooked properly and served promptly.
This role requires close collaboration with kitchen supervisors and management teams to assist in menu planning and forecasting food consumption to maintain optimal inventory and food quality. Your commitment to sanitation, health, and safety standards within the kitchen environment will be paramount, alongside reporting any necessary maintenance issues on kitchen equipment promptly.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking or food preparation experience highly preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Flexible availability for morning and evening shifts
- Valid food handling certificate if required by local regulations
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Provide high-quality fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
- Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service, and product delivery
- Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery to guests
- Consult with Kitchen Supervisor and Management to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- Demonstrate excellent attendance according to company standards
