The Line Cook role at the Arkansas Travelers venue offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team within the food services and hospitality sector. This part-time position plays a vital role in preparing fresh, high-quality food items that contribute to an exceptional guest experience during games and events. Line Cooks work in various food preparation and service areas including concession stands, premium serving stations, and main or finishing kitchens. Responsibilities span from preparing cold and hot foods, such as salads and charcuterie boards, to assembling and garnishing plates for prompt delivery to guests. Successful candidates will partake in morning prep shifts as well as evening shifts during game days, benefiting from flexible scheduling options based on availability.

The position offers an hourly wage ranging between $14.00 and $18.00, reflecting experience and skill level. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment effectively
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with team members and guests
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must comply with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by local or federal laws

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment, including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe preferred

Job Duties

  • Responsible for providing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product
  • Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
  • Responsible for portioning, arranging, and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
  • Responsible for consulting with Kitchen Supervisor and Management to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
  • Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
