Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Founded in 2015, the company has rapidly established itself at the forefront of the industry by offering a comprehensive platform that spans venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. OVG serves a diverse portfolio of world-class owned venues and clients including iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This extensive reach and expertise make OVG a pioneer in delivering exceptional experiences to audiences worldwide.
One of the prominent venues under the Oak View Group umbrella is the McAllen Convention Center, located in McAllen, Texas. The McAllen Convention Center is a multifaceted event facility sprawling over 18.5 acres, specializing in hosting a wide variety of events ranging from large conventions and conferences to concerts and community gatherings. Each year, it welcomes over 400,000 attendees through more than 500 events, making it a cornerstone for cultural, social, and corporate life in the region. The center features a spacious 60,000 square foot column-free exhibit hall, a grand ballroom, two boardrooms, and up to 16 breakout rooms, making it suitable for events of all sizes from large-scale exhibitions to intimate meetings and weddings. With a well-established reputation not only for its versatile spaces but also for its commitment to quality and service, the McAllen Convention Center plays a vital role in the community.
Oak View Group is currently seeking to fill the position of Kitchen Utility Worker at the McAllen Convention Center on a part-time basis. This role is essential to maintaining the smooth operation and cleanliness of the food service areas during events. The Kitchen Utility Worker primarily handles dishwashing duties, responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all types of tableware, cooking equipment, and serving utensils. Beyond washing dishes, the role also includes managing waste removal, restocking kitchen supplies, sweeping and mopping floors, and providing basic assistance with food preparation. Adherence to strict health, safety, and sanitation standards is critical in this position to ensure a hygienic and safe kitchen environment.
Part-time employees in this role can expect an hourly wage ranging between $10.00 and $12.00. Oak View Group offers part-time benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan and matching contributions, helping employees plan for their financial future while balancing work commitments. The schedule is designed to be flexible but requires reliability and the ability to work during scheduled events as needed. This position remains open until August 28, 2026, providing ample opportunity to apply and join a team committed to excellence.
This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and who take pride in maintaining cleanliness and supporting kitchen operations with a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience in similar hospitality or food service settings, including casual or fine dining environments, is beneficial but not mandatory, as willingness to learn is equally valued. The role also demands the ability to lift heavy objects and work collaboratively with kitchen staff to meet operational needs. A valid Food Handling Certificate is required to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Working at Oak View Group means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive culture that values innovation and teamwork. The company embraces the differences of its people to drive exceptional service and operational excellence. Employees at the McAllen Convention Center contribute not only to the success of international events but also to community enrichment activities that foster connection and engagement among local residents and visitors alike. Joining OVG offers a unique opportunity to be part of a global organization while having a meaningful impact within the McAllen community.
