Job Description

The Oak View Group is currently seeking a part-time Food & Beverage Supervisor for the Ocean Center location in Daytona Beach, Florida. This role offers an hourly wage of $17.00 and includes benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions for part-time employees. This position will remain open until July 24, 2026, providing an excellent opportunity for motivated candidates who enjoy working in dynamic, fast-paced live event environments.

The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a critical role in the management and oversight of guest food and beverage services within the venue's dining areas and catering functions. This position requires a personable individual capable of thriving in a constantly evolving and fast-paced setting. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that guests receive excellent service throughout meal and beverage operations, coordinating with the food and beverage management team to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key components of the role include overseeing meal and beverage service, managing guest orders, and supervising banquet setups. The supervisor will guide guests through buffet lines, ensure compliance with age requirements for alcohol service, and assist with point-of-sale system operation. Supervisory responsibilities extend to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food and beverage work areas, managing inventory, and assisting with training and special events.

This role demands strong communication skills as the supervisor must effectively coordinate with employees, co-workers, management, and guests to foster a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment. The ability to recognize and manage guests who may be intoxicated and enforce venue policies is also essential. Attendance reliability and flexibility to work scheduled events as per business needs are critical for success in this role.

With at least 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment, candidates should possess the qualifications necessary to lead a team and handle cash and POS transactions accurately. Food handling certification or an alcohol service permit, if required by state or federal regulations, are also necessary credentials.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education
  • ability to supervise the work of others
  • ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
  • ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
  • ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory

Job Duties

  • Oversee meal service to guests or guide guests through the buffet line as needed
  • supervise beverage service including alcoholic beverages and verify guest identification to ensure compliance with minimum age requirements
  • assist with recording guest orders and entering them into the kitchen through the POS system
  • monitor guest tables to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are completed
  • calculate meal totals, present checks to guests, process payments, and provide change when necessary
  • ensure tableware and linens are replaced and maintained as needed throughout service
  • recommend menu items, describe ingredients, and explain preparation methods to enhance the guest dining experience
  • supervise the setup of banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware
  • maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
  • assure that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of the event
  • responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to cut off alcohol to such individuals
  • enforce all Ovations policies and procedures
  • assist management team with projects including training, inventory, and special events
  • perform all other duties as assigned by the managers and supervisors
