The Food & Beverage Supervisor role at the Palm Beach County Convention Center is a part-time position offering an hourly wage between $28.00 and $30.00. This role is integral to the success of the venue's banquet and concessions operations, requiring a candidate capable of effectively managing event staff and ensuring top-tier customer service. The supervisor acts as a leader and coordinator, working closely with various departments to ensure smooth event execution. Responsibilities include overseeing serving staff, managing set-up and break-down, and maintaining alignment with event specifications. This position demands a high level of technical proficiency relating to food and beverage service as well as event operations. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3+ years experience in catering or restaurant environment
- minimum 1 year supervisory experience in food and beverage
- ability to work flexible weekday and weekend shifts
- possess or obtain Food Handlers Card and Alcohol Awareness Certification
- strong communication and leadership skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- ability to handle client concerns professionally

Job Qualifications
- 2-3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume catering or restaurant environment
- minimum of 1 year experience in food and beverage lead or supervisor role
- high school diploma, G.E.D., or related food service experience
- ability to work weekdays and weekends with some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call or event-based schedule
- must acquire and maintain Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other compliance trainings
- ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- strong communication skills with employees, management, and guests
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Job Duties
- Assist operations and concessions managers on duty in preparation for events
- perform opening and closing procedures for events
- oversee a staff of concession staff, bartenders, banquet servers, and other event support staff
- communicate performance concerns to managers according to company policy
- assist in the warehouse, oversee warehouse employees, and transport inventory as required
- provide operational expertise to ensure smooth and profitable event execution
- cover any open position to maintain full operational status and meet company standards
- maintain thorough knowledge of all concessions locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, and facility access
- ensure adherence to OVG policies including alcohol service, food handling, sanitation, and safety
- review banquet event orders to confirm all details are met
- conduct pre-banquet meetings to review standards and assign stations
- communicate with supervisors and managers about event details and changes
- ensure adequate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other event items
- check room setup prior to event and confirm food quantities and timing with chefs
- ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and props
- conduct random audits during functions to evaluate food and service
- review banquet schedules and event calendars regularly
- handle client complaints promptly and work with event planning to resolve issues
- train and mentor banquet servers and event staff
- ensure staff adherence to safety, health, and sanitation guidelines during events
