Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG operates a diversified platform that spans venue development and comprehensive capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. With ownership of seven world-class venues and a client roster that includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents, Oak View Group has positioned itself as a key innovator and operator in the live entertainment industry.

Among its esteemed venues is the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, located in Tallahassee, Florida, on the campus of Florida State University. The Civic Center is a multifaceted facility featuring a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, and 476 club seats. It also offers over 54,000 square feet of versatile meeting and exhibition space, along with an arena-view restaurant known as the Spotlight Grille. The arena is the home court for Florida State men’s and women’s basketball teams, renowned for its electric atmosphere and strong home-court advantage. Beyond sporting events, the venue regularly hosts major concerts, trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and educational classes, exemplifying its versatile role in the community.

The current opening at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center is for a part-time Culinary Baker who plays a vital role in supporting some of the largest catering events hosted at the venue throughout the year. This position requires an individual with significant experience in a quality-driven restaurant, hotel, or bakery, possessing a passion for baking, creativity, and a commitment to excellence in their craft. While baking expertise is preferred, exceptional culinary talent that contributes to elevated event offerings will also be considered.

Due to the scale of events held at the Civic Center, which often accommodate over 2,000 guests, the role demands a high standard of quality, efficiency, and presentation. The Culinary Baker will often interact directly with patrons and assist the chef in enhancing kitchen efficiency and delivery. This role is crucial to the successful and profitable operation of the venue's culinary services and requires a flexible availability to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends. The hourly wage for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00.

Beyond daily baking responsibilities, the Baker will collaborate closely with culinary leadership to continuously improve event menus and presentation standards. Maintaining the highest food safety, sanitation, and professional standards is fundamental to this role. The position provides part-time employees with benefits including access to a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. This opportunity remains open until August 28, 2026, offering a unique chance to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering outstanding culinary experiences at a premier entertainment venue.
