Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Founded in 2015, OVG operates an impressive portfolio that spans venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The company currently manages a collection of seven world-class venues and collaborates with iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG’s reputation for excellence and innovation in live entertainment makes it a highly desirable employer for individuals passionate about the hospitality and event management industries.

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, located in Tallahassee, Florida, is one of the premier venues under OVG’s management. The Civic Center boasts a 12,500-seat arena featuring 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space, and a renowned arena-view restaurant called the Spotlight Grille. As the home for Florida State University’s Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, the venue is known for its electrifying atmosphere and dedicated fan base. Additionally, the arena frequently hosts a variety of other events including concerts, trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and educational classes. This versatility requires a skilled and adaptable culinary team capable of delivering exceptional food service at large-scale events.

The role being offered is a part-time Culinary Baker position at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. This opportunity is ideal for culinary professionals currently working in quality-driven restaurants, hotels, or bakeries who are passionate about baking and delivering top-tier service. The Culinary Baker will play an essential role in supporting some of the venue’s largest catering events, often accommodating 2,000 or more guests. This position demands creativity, a high standard of excellence, and a commitment to innovation in culinary offerings.

The Culinary Baker will work closely with culinary leadership to enhance the venue’s catering menus and overall event experience. Responsibilities include assisting in kitchen operations, maintaining impeccable food presentation and timing, and actively contributing ideas for elevating the culinary program. Since the venue hosts events of varying sizes and types, the baker must be flexible and able to manage a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends. The role involves direct interaction with guests and requires the ability to maintain professionalism and positive engagement in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

This position pays an hourly rate ranging from $20.00 to $25.00 and offers part-time employees valuable benefits including a 401(k) savings plan and matching contributions. The Culinary Baker role is integral to the successful and profitable operation of the Civic Center’s culinary services, making it a critical position within the team. Candidates should possess a valid ServSafe or equivalent food handling certificate, demonstrate excellent attendance, and have 2 to 3 years of experience working in a similar high-quality culinary environment.

Joining Oak View Group means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive team that values innovation and excellence. OVG is committed to creating an environment where every voice is heard and celebrated, driving success across all facets of its global operations. As an equal opportunity employer, Oak View Group welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and is dedicated to fostering an equitable workplace for all employees.
