With a commitment to excellence, OVG operates seven owned venues and works with many iconic locations, ensuring outstanding experiences for performers, guests, and partners alike. The company fosters innovation by embracing diversity and inclusivity, creating vibrant environments that reflect the communities it serves. As an employer, OVG is dedicated to providing equal opportunity and supporting a culture where every individual can thrive and contribute meaningfully.
The Sioux Falls Convention Center, part of the Oak View Group portfolio, is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join their catering and banquet team. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $20.00 and is eligible for tips. Part-time employees also have access to a 401(k) savings plan with company matching. The role primarily involves preparing, organizing, and executing food service for banquets, concessions, private parties, and other event-related areas as directed by the Executive Chef. The Cook will be responsible for adhering to high standards of food quality, hygiene, presentation, and sanitation, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. This position demands multitasking in a fast-paced, indoor environment while maintaining professionalism and teamwork.
Key responsibilities include food prep and storage, maintaining food item quantities, communicating ingredient and supply needs to kitchen leadership, and consistently producing menu items that meet ClubCorp and OVG’s quality standards. The Cook must follow safe food handling protocols, keep the work area and kitchen clean, and manage guest requests with a helpful and courteous demeanor. Flexibility is essential, as the employee may be asked to assist with various duties beyond their core responsibilities. Adherence to uniform standards and company policies is mandatory.
Candidates for this position should have 2-3 years of experience as a prep cook or line cook, be capable of following instructions carefully, and thrive in a fast-paced setting requiring physical work such as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling heavy objects. Availability for additional hours on weekends and holidays is often necessary. Oak View Group values diverse perspectives and inclusivity, striving to provide a welcoming workplace where everyone’s contributions are valued and respected. This part-time Cook opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts within the exciting atmosphere of live events and hospitality.
