The company’s reputation is built on innovation, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that its workforce reflects and celebrates the diverse communities it serves.

One of Oak View Group's standout venues is Polar Park in Worcester, Massachusetts, home to the Worcester Red Sox. This state-of-the-art ballpark offers a dynamic live entertainment environment and hosts a variety of events, including minor league baseball games and large community gatherings. As part of the Oak View Group family, Polar Park emphasizes creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional service, quality food and beverage offerings, and a strong connection with the local community.

The Concessions Sous Chef position at Worcester Red Sox (Polar Park) is a vital role within Oak View Group’s concessions team. This is a part-time, regular position offering an hourly pay rate ranging from $22.00 to $25.00. The role demands a culinary professional who excels in managing back-of-house operations during events, ensuring high-quality food production, strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and smooth operational flow across various concession locations inside the ballpark. The Concessions Sous Chef acts as an essential leader on the culinary floor, guiding and motivating a fast-paced team to meet the demands of high-volume events.

This role requires overseeing every aspect of the culinary service during games and events — from assigning tasks and monitoring food quality to maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting key operational phases including setting up at event start, managing mid-event activities, and assisting with closing procedures. The Concessions Sous Chef is also tasked with conducting food safety checks such as temperature and sanitation log completion, proper food storage, and inventory management to maintain optimal product levels.

Oak View Group values leadership and hands-on management, particularly in high-energy environments like sports venues and live events. As such, the Concessions Sous Chef is expected to provide real-time coaching, performance feedback, and foster teamwork among back-of-house staff. Oak View Group’s commitment to inclusivity means that this role is embraced by a culture that prioritizes diversity, respects all backgrounds, and aims to empower employees to bring their authentic selves to work.

Candidates for this role should anticipate working flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, as these are typical for the live event and sports industry. Part-time employees benefit from a 401(k) savings plan including company matching contributions, helping to support long-term financial goals even when working on a part-time basis.

Overall, the Concessions Sous Chef at Worcester Red Sox offers a dynamic career opportunity within the fast-growing live entertainment and hospitality sector. This role blends culinary expertise, leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, making it ideal for culinary professionals eager to thrive in a vibrant, team-oriented environment while contributing to memorable guest experiences at one of Massachusetts' premier sports venues.
