The role of Concessions Sous Chef at Worcester Red Sox, operating within Polar Park under Oak View Group’s management, is an essential position responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of back-of-house culinary activities during games and events. This part-time position offers an hourly rate ranging from $22.00 to $25.00 and includes benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching, which is notable for part-time roles.

The Concessions Sous Chef leads a culinary team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where maintaining quality, food safety, and sanitation standards are crucial. As a key point of contact between management and kitchen staff, the Sous Chef supervises food preparation, ensures proper food handling practices, and supports operational execution across multiple concession locations within the venue. Job Duties

  • Supervise and support culinary operations during games and events to ensure efficient food production and service
  • maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards across all locations
  • lead and support BOH staff, including assigning stations, delegating tasks, and providing real-time coaching
  • assist with opening, mid-event operations, and closing procedures as needed
  • ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
  • oversee proper food handling, storage, labeling, and rotation practices
  • monitor and ensure completion of temperature logs, sanitation logs, and cleaning procedures
  • maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen and prep areas
  • assist with inventory, prep, stocking, and maintaining appropriate product levels
  • communicate operational needs, staffing concerns, and issues to management and support overall event execution
