This particular career opportunity is for the position of Concessions Manager at the Port Wentworth Ice Cove location in Port Wentworth, Georgia. This is a full-time role that offers an annual salary in the range of $52,000 to $55,000. The Concessions Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the effective management of venue concession operations. This includes overseeing inventory controls, product ordering, training both new and existing employees, managing cash controls, and enforcing compliance with alcohol service policies. The role demands a significant level of responsibility to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service while supporting the coordination of warehouse activities and event planning.

The Concessions Manager is directly responsible for the operational success of the concessions department by providing strong supervision, coaching, and mentoring to employees. This includes managing employee relations, addressing performance issues promptly, and fostering a positive work environment. The manager must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrate professionalism, self-direction, and technical proficiency, particularly with computer applications and point-of-sale systems.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in concessions or food and beverage management
  • Ability to train and supervise staff effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures and ordering for high-volume venues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to maintain high standards of safety and compliance
  • Capacity to manage employee relations and performance issues
  • Ability to perform basic math functions related to cash handling and inventory

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 3-5+ years experience in concessions management, food and beverage management, or related experience
  • Degree can be substituted with four or more years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, POS, and timekeeping systems
  • Experience training employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering products for high-volume venues
  • Strong communication skills fostering positive and cooperative work environments
  • Ability to make sound operational decisions quickly under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Thorough knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, alcohol service policies, and safety standards
  • Ability to perform basic math related to POS and inventory
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Nationally recognized food service sanitation certification preferred
  • Nationally recognized alcohol service certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage, develop, and mentor concessions staff including discipline and performance documentation
  • Ensure proper setup of all concession locations prior to event doors including inventory verification and sanitation standards
  • Provide operational oversight to ensure smooth and profitable event execution
  • Oversee inventory, product ordering, and high-volume sales management
  • Manage all venue concessions operations before, during, and after events including staff scheduling, POS monitoring, guest complaint resolution, and training
  • Train new and current employees in property procedures and best practices
  • Cover or back up any open position to maintain operational standards
  • Provide direction and oversight to supervisors and concession team members ensuring compliance with state, federal, and internal policies
  • Complete post-event evaluations, data compilation, and reporting
  • Ensure a safe work environment free from harassment with prompt response to safety concerns
  • Promote a positive, cooperative workplace environment through ongoing training and mentoring
  • Obtain working knowledge of all concession locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, and facility access
