One of its distinguished venues is the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center located in Tallahassee, Florida, which features a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, hundreds of club seats, extensive meeting and exhibition space, and a notable arena view restaurant called the Spotlight Grille. This venue hosts a variety of events including Florida State University basketball games, concerts, trade shows, receptions, religious services, and educational programs, making it an energetic hub for both sports and entertainment enthusiasts.
The Concession Runner position at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center is a vital element of Oak View Group’s commitment to delivering superior live event experiences. This part-time role entails active participation in food and beverage (F&B) warehouse operations, including inventory management, receiving shipments, sanitation, and inter-location product transfers. The Concession Runner supports event operations by ensuring that concession stands are well-stocked, equipment is clean and well-maintained, and all food handling practices meet rigorous standards for safety and quality. This position demands excellent attendance, availability for variable event schedules including evenings and weekends, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Success in this role requires high levels of customer service, professional presentation, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity for independent decision-making.
Compensation for this role is $15.50 per hour, and the part-time position offers a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, providing valuable benefits despite the role’s part-time status. The job offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about live entertainment and food service to contribute to the behind-the-scenes operations that make every event seamless. The job is evergreen, accepting applications on a rolling basis, meaning dedicated candidates can apply at any time.

Adaptability to different working conditions such as exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and safety risks is essential. The role is also ideal for those with existing or aspiring hospitality credentials, including ServSafe Food Handlers and Alcohol Service certifications.
Overall, the Concession Runner is a frontline contributor to the customer experience at one of Florida’s premier entertainment venues. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and food safety standards that underlie successful event execution. Candidates who thrive in dynamic environments, are self-motivated, and have a passion for supporting live entertainment will find this position rewarding and engaging.
