We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our culinary team on a part-time basis at the Lone Star Convention Center. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of professional culinary experience
- valid food handler's permit
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to lift and carry heavy kitchen items
- strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- excellent teamwork and communication skills
- culinary degree or certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience
- proven experience as a chef in a professional kitchen setting, with a focus on catering or event services preferred
- culinary degree or certification from an accredited culinary institute preferred
- strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and flavor profiles
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate event schedules
- valid food handler's permit and knowledge of food safety regulations

Job Duties
- Plan, prepare, and execute menus for weekly parties and concessions in accordance with customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and budget constraints
- coordinate with event organizers to understand their needs and ensure that menu offerings meet their expectations
- maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- order and shop out ingredients and supplies necessary for each event, ensuring that inventory levels are sufficient to meet demand
- manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks as needed to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards of excellence
- assist with menu development, recipe testing, and special event planning as requested
- provide exceptional customer service and strive to exceed customer expectations with every meal served
