This particular role is situated at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, where Oak View Group serves as the primary Food & Beverage partner for numerous athletic and entertainment venues including Plaster Stadium, Great Southern Bank Arena, Juanita K. Hammons Hall, Hammons Student Center, and Betty and Bobby Allison Soccer Stadium. The position of Bartender is part-time and provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. The hourly wage for this role is $9.50 with additional tip eligibility.

The Bartender will play a crucial role in ensuring high standards of beverage service, efficiently managing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Job Requirements

  • six months or more experience bartending
  • high school diploma or ged is preferred
  • bartending school preferred
  • accurate cash handling skills required
  • ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and long hours

Job Duties

  • demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service interaction with co-workers and uniform standards
  • follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state federal regulations
  • responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer wine varieties and spirits available and being able to suggestively upsell products to guests
  • pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
  • check the guest's ID to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages
  • communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
  • listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns
  • de-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security as required
  • contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond scope of standard decision-making
  • request additional products or restock products as needed
  • responsible for the issued bank at the bar
  • maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times and ensure bar equipment is clean and well maintained
  • other duties as assigned including setting up and breaking down bar equipment and assisting with organization of the cooler
