Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, renowned for its comprehensive platform encompassing venue development and end-to-end management capabilities. Established in 2015, OVG operates a portfolio consisting of seven world-class owned venues and extends its expertise to an impressive client roster featuring some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This expansive reach underscores Oak View Group's commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences in the live entertainment industry through excellence in venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales.
This particular opportunity is based at Missouri State University where Oak View Group serves as the primary Food & Beverage partner responsible for servicing concessions and premium spaces across several campus facilities, including Plaster Stadium, Great Southern Bank Arena, Juanita K. Hammons Hall, Hammons Student Center, and Betty and Bobby Allison Soccer Stadium. This part-time Bartender role is ideal for individuals seeking a dynamic, fast-paced environment that blends hospitality with live entertainment and collegiate sports atmospheres. The position is compensated at an hourly rate of $9.50 and is tip-eligible, allowing for additional earning potential based on service quality and guest interactions.
The Bartender is central to the success of the Food & Beverage operations at Missouri State University, tasked with delivering superior beverage service to guests while ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal alcohol regulations. This role demands a personable and professional demeanor, a strong commitment to guest satisfaction, and the flexibility to operate effectively during a variety of events and schedules. Bartenders must maintain rigorous standards in both service quality and workplace cleanliness while managing cash handling and inventory responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism.
Working as a Bartender for Oak View Group involves much more than mixing drinks; it requires a thorough knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and the ability to recommend and upsell products tailor-made to guest preferences. The role also entails proactive communication with patrons, including verifying identification, responsibly monitoring alcohol consumption to ensure guest safety, and de-escalating potential conflict situations. Collaboration with team members and management is essential for maintaining a smooth operation, with the Bartender often tasked with restocking, equipment setup, and ensuring an inviting bar environment.
Overall, this part-time Bartender position offers a compelling opportunity to join a globally recognized leader in live entertainment alongside working in one of Missouri's vibrant collegiate settings. It is perfectly suited for individuals who value teamwork, enjoy fast-paced hospitality roles, and seek a position offering flexible scheduling with the chance to contribute to memorable experiences at significant university and entertainment venues.
