The Seattle Aquarium location is seeking a dedicated part-time Barista to join their food and beverage team. This role is pivotal in creating exceptional guest experiences by providing professional, efficient, and friendly service during daily cafe operations. The Barista is entrusted with not only preparing and serving quality coffee drinks but also ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued throughout their visit. Working closely with the kitchen and service staff, the Barista ensures that all food and beverage orders meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and timing.
The position is located at 1483 Alaskan Way, Pier 59, Seattle, WA 98101, and offers an hourly wage of $21.30, plus eligibility to receive tips. This role demands a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage setup, stocking, cleaning duties, and maintain a professional appearance and atmosphere in a fast-paced event and cafe environment. The Barista contributes directly to the guests' overall satisfaction, acting as the frontline representative for the Food & Beverage department.
Baristas at the Seattle Aquarium are responsible for preparing coffee and other beverages according to menu standards, ensuring food items are served promptly and correctly, attentively responding to guest requests, and maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the counter. They communicate with waitstaff, bartenders, kitchen employees, and supervisors to enhance the coordination and delivery of excellent service. This collaborative work environment fosters a welcoming atmosphere that highlights hospitality and attentiveness.
Beyond serving drinks, Baristas at OVG are expected to uphold compliance with food safety and alcohol awareness standards, maintain knowledge of menu offerings and bar items, and support busy periods by pre-busing and bus tables as needed. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, dynamic setting.
The Seattle Aquarium Barista position offers part-time employment with valuable benefits including a 401(k) Savings Plan with matching, targeted at supporting employees' financial futures.
