The Bar Back at Oneida Casino serves as a crucial support role within the beverage service team, ensuring that bartenders are fully stocked and able to provide seamless service during events. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to handle manual labor such as moving kegs and cleaning
- strong communication skills
- ability to maintain excellent attendance
- experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with employees, co-workers, management, and guests
- possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations
- ability to calculate basic math functions related to product inventory including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to speak, read, and write English
- experience working in high volume, fast-paced bar settings preferred
Job Duties
- Stock products for the bar including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and icing wells
- sweep and mop the bar area
- move kegs in and out of keg coolers and tap kegs
- run supplies for bartenders including backup fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers
- ensure location equipment is operable and clean before events
- maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas through sanitation procedures including mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and keeping closet areas clear of debris
- recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and alert bartenders
- maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
- maintain excellent attendance and availability to work scheduled events
