The Bar Back at Oneida Casino serves as a crucial support role within the beverage service team, ensuring that bartenders are fully stocked and able to provide seamless service during events. This involves restocking non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, handling kegs, maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the bar and surrounding areas, and ensuring all equipment is ready and operational before events begin. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to handle manual labor such as moving kegs and cleaning
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to maintain excellent attendance
  • experience in hospitality or bar service preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with employees, co-workers, management, and guests
  • possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations
  • ability to calculate basic math functions related to product inventory including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • experience working in high volume, fast-paced bar settings preferred

Job Duties

  • Stock products for the bar including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and icing wells
  • sweep and mop the bar area
  • move kegs in and out of keg coolers and tap kegs
  • run supplies for bartenders including backup fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers
  • ensure location equipment is operable and clean before events
  • maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas through sanitation procedures including mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and keeping closet areas clear of debris
  • recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and alert bartenders
  • maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • maintain excellent attendance and availability to work scheduled events
