The Banquet Supervisor position at Iowa Cubs within Principal Park is a regular part-time role designed for individuals who thrive in a customer-focused hospitality environment and have a passion for event management excellence. The Banquet Supervisor will oversee all facets of banquet or event operations, ensuring superior service delivery from setup through to cleanup. This role demands an attentive eye for detail, meticulous organization, and a dedication to quality presentation. Serving as a critical team leader, the Banquet Supervisor is responsible not only for managing event staff during service but also for training and coaching team members to maintain high standards and operational efficiency.

This position commands an hourly wage of $24.00 as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), accompanied by union benefits consistent with the agreement terms. The Supervisor’s duties encompass constant communication with guests and coordinating with on-site points of contact to guarantee event expectations are not just met but exceeded. They maintain seamless coordination with kitchen personnel to assure timely and effective food production and service synchronization. The Supervisor is tasked with meticulous inspection of all event settings including table linens, china, glassware, silverware to ensure flawless presentation. Additionally, they oversee the service sequence, post-event cleanup, equipment security, inventory management, and collaborate with the Executive Chef and Premium Services Manager to optimize food and beverage service quality.

The ideal candidate will display strong leadership, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced event environment. Working flexible hours including evenings and weekends is a requirement due to the nature of events. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2+ years related experience and/or training
  • knowledge of food and beverage operation and preparation
  • valid Alcohol Service Permit
  • ability to work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • highly motivated and quality-driven
  • able to accept responsibility and lead by example

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • knowledge of food and beverage operation and preparation
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • valid Alcohol Service Permit
  • familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • basic computer proficiency including e-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+
  • ability to work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • highly motivated and quality-driven
  • detail-oriented yet able to excel while multitasking
  • able to accept responsibility and lead by example

Job Duties

  • Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintains constant communication with guests and on-site contact to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded
  • remains alert to complaints and/or unsatisfied guests and responds appropriately to ensure guest satisfaction
  • coordinates with other departments to arrange for the delivery of requested services
  • maintains constant contact with kitchen staff to ensure complete, effective communication between food production and food service
  • ensures all functions are set and staff is prepared and organized before required time on BEO
  • inspects table place settings, including table linen, china, glass, silverware, and condiments for correct placement and ensures that each element is clean, undamaged, and attractive
