The Baylor Club, located in Waco, Texas, is one of Oak View Group's distinguished managed venues and is currently seeking a full-time Banquet Supervisor. This role offers an hourly wage range of $16.00 to $18.00 and includes benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan with matching, and paid time off including vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays. The Banquet Supervisor will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of banquets and catered events at The Baylor Club. This position focuses on every aspect of banquet operations including setup, food presentation, service, and cleanup, with a strong emphasis on quality, customer service, and attention to detail. The supervisor ensures that guests receive exceptional service and that all events meet or exceed expectations.

Key responsibilities include coordinating event logistics, maintaining constant communication with kitchen and event staff, inspecting table settings, managing event setup and breakdown, and ensuring all service elements meet the highest standards. The Banquet Supervisor is also responsible for training and coaching banquet staff, conducting staff meetings, and fostering a positive and professional team environment. Collaboration with other departments such as food and beverage, sales, and kitchen staff is crucial to synchronize efforts and improve efficiency.

The role also demands technical proficiency with point-of-sale and timekeeping systems, as well as familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning. Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • 2-3+ years of related experience or training
  • Advanced food service sanitation training certification
  • Valid Manager's ServSafe Certification
  • Valid Alcohol Service Permit
  • Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • Basic computer proficiency including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+
  • Experience with point-of-sale and timekeeping systems
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operation and preparation
  • Cash handling skills and math proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 2-3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Nationally recognized advanced food service sanitation training certification
  • Valid Manager's ServSafe Certification
  • Valid Alcohol Service Permit
  • Familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • Basic computer proficiency including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+
  • Working knowledge of point-of-sale and timekeeping systems
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation
  • Cash handling abilities and strong math skills
  • Ability to work variable schedules including evenings and weekends
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain constant communication with guests and on-site contacts to ensure expectations are met or exceeded
  • Respond appropriately to complaints and unsatisfied guests to ensure satisfaction
  • Coordinate with other departments to arrange delivery of requested services
  • Maintain communication between kitchen staff and service staff
  • Ensure all event functions are set and staff prepared before scheduled time
  • Inspect table place settings including linens, china, glass, silverware, and condiments for proper placement and cleanliness
  • Set buffet and food service tables properly
  • Arrange proper sequence of service for events
  • Supervise clearing, post-function cleanup, and garbage removal
  • Maintain clean and orderly back, pre-function, and storage areas
  • Assure all service equipment and decor are returned to proper locations
  • Oversee handling, storage, and security of catering equipment and decor
  • Assist with training and coaching banquet staff
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to build rapport and inform staff
  • Attend food and beverage meetings to evaluate strategies for guest experience enhancement
  • Review scheduling and labor needs for efficiency and guest service
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef on inventory stocking
  • Work with Event/Sales Managers to ensure quality and accuracy of event setups
  • Utilize computer systems related to food and beverage operations
