The Part-Time Banquet Server role at the Donald L. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager and Event Manager, the Banquet Server plays a critical role in ensuring that banquet functions run smoothly and guests receive top-tier hospitality. Banquet Servers at the venue are responsible for assisting with the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events, contributing to the overall success of each event. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively about menu items, special orders, and guest needs. Flexibility is essential as work schedules may include days, nights, weekends, and extended hours depending on the event calendar. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent GED
- minimum of one year of experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
- legal age requirement of at least eighteen years to serve alcoholic drinks
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and extended hours
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- adherence to safety and professional standards
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent GED strong preferred
- minimum of one year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
- must be at least eighteen years of age to serve alcoholic drinks
- ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, extended workdays, and extended number of days
Job Duties
- assist the Food and Beverage Manager and Event Manager in serving guests during banquet functions
- prepare, refill, and serve beverages and wine for customers
- set up tables according to meal period and specified standards
- remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to the kitchen or breakdown station
- set up and break down buffet and break stations as needed
- remove and replace table linens and service settings as required
- clean and arrange workstations, chairs, and table pieces
- refill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and condiment containers
- give menu descriptions to customers and answer questions regarding preparation
- relay special orders to catering manager, banquet captain, chef, or kitchen
- serve meals to customers or direct customers to buffets
- observe customers to find out if anything else is needed
- provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
