The Assistant General Manager position at the Ford Idaho Center, a premier venue located in Nampa, Idaho, is a vital role responsible for delivering efficient, professional, and profitable venue operations. This full-time role entails assisting the General Manager in the comprehensive management of the catering and concessions operations, ensuring strict compliance with labor laws, sanitation regulations, food safety standards, and alcohol service policies. The Assistant General Manager plays a leadership role in supervising, coaching, and mentoring employees at all levels to achieve company quality standards and performance goals.

This position requires strong operational oversight, including monitoring event activities, managing labor allocation, authorizing employment actions, and maintaining a harmonious and cooperative work environment. The Assistant General Manager independently addresses employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary responsibilities. With an annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $95,000, this role also involves financial management duties, such as analyzing revenue reports, forecasting, controlling costs, and managing profit and loss statements. Job Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in a business-related field
  • 3-5+ years of management experience in food or concessions
  • Possession of Concessions Manager Certificate
  • Advanced food service sanitation certification
  • Valid Food Handlers certificate
  • Valid Alcohol Service Permit as per local laws
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to make quick operational decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of venue operations and regulatory compliance
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to handle cash responsibly
  • High standards of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently

Job Qualifications

  • BA or BS with a business-related major
  • Accounting minor or credits preferred
  • 3-5+ years of management experience in the food-related or concessions industry
  • Concessions Manager Certificate from the National Association of Concessionaires
  • Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, professional, and courteous manner
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions quickly and under pressure
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions and premium services locations
  • Possess a valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required by state or local government
  • Valid Alcohol Service Permit if required by the state and/or county of the venue
  • Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards
  • Ability to calculate basic and complex math functions
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently with little direction

Job Duties

  • Assists in the overall effective management of the catering and concessions operations
  • Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies
  • Monitors alcohol service throughout the event to ensure 100% compliance with Alcohol Service policies
  • Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately
  • Assist in the management of catered and concessions events from set-up to tear-down, including handling all communication with hourly staff, culinary staff & guests
  • Ensure legal, efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the venue
  • Generate and review financial reports, including projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, and P&L financial statements
