Job Description

The Stockton Ports is a professional minor league baseball team based in Stockton, California, known for its rich history and community involvement. Serving as a cornerstone in the local sports scene, the Stockton Ports offer an exciting environment where baseball fans and families come together to enjoy top-tier baseball and vibrant entertainment experiences. The franchise is committed to growth and innovation, offering various ticket packages and group outing opportunities designed to enhance fan engagement and build lasting relationships within the community.

The Stockton Ports organization is currently seeking a dedicated Ticket Sales Manager to join its dynamic team under the leadership of the Director of Ticket Sales. This position focuses on selling group outings and growing the organization's season ticket base as well as its group and hospitality sales. The role is essential for maintaining and expanding the team's loyal customer base by capitalizing on new business opportunities, nurturing existing relationships, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle.

In this role, the Ticket Sales Manager will engage in a variety of daily activities aimed at driving revenue growth for the Stockton Ports 2026 season and beyond. Responsibilities include prospecting new clients, following up with warm leads, conducting meetings with prospective clients, and ensuring constant communication with existing customers. Achieving a minimum of 75 customer touchpoints per day is a key performance metric, highlighting the importance of consistent outreach and relationship-building in this position.

Leading up to the baseball season, the primary focus lies in selling premium season ticket packages to businesses, emphasizing the value of partnering with the Stockton Ports for corporate entertainment, team-building, and community engagement. During the season, the Ticket Sales Manager concentrates on group sales, focusing on company outings within the hospitality areas, as well as general seating sections, to maximize attendance and revenue.

The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with other team members to brainstorm and implement creative strategies aimed at increasing attendance and enhancing customer loyalty. By cooperating with various departments, the Ticket Sales Manager contributes to the overall success of the ticket sales department and the organization as a whole.

This is a fast-paced, high-energy role that requires extended working hours from March through September, including evenings and weekends. It demands the ability to handle stress effectively while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Candidates in this position will have the opportunity to earn an hourly rate based on experience, complemented by commission on direct sales efforts. The compensation package includes 10% commission on new sales (season tickets, mini plans, group sales), 6% commission on renewal sales, individual and team performance bonuses, healthcare and dental coverage, and a 401(k) with employer match.

Joining the Stockton Ports means becoming part of a forward-thinking, inclusive environment that values diversity and equal opportunity. This opportunity offers a unique blend of sports, sales, and community engagement for individuals passionate about driving business results and connecting with customers in meaningful ways.
