- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3-5 years short order cooking and/or cold food preparation experience
- ServSafe certification preferred
- ability to follow health and safety regulations
- ability to work part time during day shift
- good communication skills

- ability to follow recipes and food preparation instructions
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Prepares food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menu
- reads food orders or receives verbal instructions and prepares and cooks food accordingly
- follows basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving a variety of food items
- operates kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish
- tastes food products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps accurate records
- cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment
- complies with all HACCP policies and procedures
- ensures proper quantity of food using correct portion control
- maintains proper food temperatures and records them
- reviews next day production needs
- performs other assigned duties
