Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or GED
- successful completion of on-the-job training period for Level I
- bachelor’s degree or relevant certification for Level II
- three years relevant experience for Level II
- BCLS certification or willingness to obtain within first three months
- ability to safely transport and assist patients
- competency in sterile techniques
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to perform physical tasks as required
- effective communication and documentation skills
- flexibility in scheduling
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED
- bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology or exercise science for Level II
- licensure or certification as athletic trainer or massage therapist for Level II
- at least three years relevant experience as rehab aide or technician for Level II
- successful completion of on-the-job training for Level I
- BCLS certification or obtain within three months of employment
- knowledge of patient care and safety protocols
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to work cooperatively within a healthcare team
Job Duties
- Perform patient related tasks and instruction as designated by the therapist
- prepare patient and treatment area for care
- aid therapist with patient care under supervision
- utilize sterile technique for wound care and dressing changes
- transport patients safely according to schedule
- assist with patient transfers and mobility
- assist in scheduling inpatients and outpatients
- maintain and clean equipment and supplies
- manage linen and supply inventory
- document patient care activities and safety logs
- assist with phone and front office coverage
- communicate courteously with patients and staff
- participate in orientation and training of volunteers
- support cross coverage efforts in the department
- report patient responses to treatment
- aid with co-treatment on complex therapy procedures
- manage custom supply orders and equipment maintenance
- provide on-site supervision to assigned aides
- organize workload and assist in training Level I aides
