For over four decades, Nissley Vineyards has been dedicated to crafting quality wines that capture the unique terroir of the region, becoming a beloved destination for wine enthusiasts and visitors alike. The vineyard prides itself on combining traditional wine-making methods with modern techniques to ensure the highest quality product. Their commitment extends beyond winemaking to providing an enriching customer experience through their welcoming tasting room, hosting various events and wine club memberships. This dedication has solidified Nissley Vineyards' reputation as a premier winery in the area, offering both locals and tourists a memorable experience centered around wine appreciation and education.
The Winery Server/Tasting Room Shift Lead position at Nissley Vineyards is a part-time role tailored for individuals who are passionate about customer interaction and the promotion of fine wines. This role involves developing meaningful relationships with customers, enhancing their overall winery experience by offering knowledgeable guidance and personalized wine tastings. The ideal candidate is outgoing, enthusiastic, and comfortable engaging with visitors, making them feel welcome and informed during their time in the tasting room. With a work environment that is fast-paced, fun, and exciting, this role suits individuals with backgrounds in hospitality, bartending, serving, customer service, or retail sales who thrive on dynamic team collaboration and outstanding customer service.
This position requires working 2-3 weekday shifts, which may include opening and/or closing responsibilities, along with at least one weekend closing shift. The shift lead plays a crucial part in maintaining smooth operations, including handling cash transactions accurately, managing inventory, and ensuring the tasting room remains clean and attractive to guests. They are tasked with promoting the winery’s wines and events to customers, encouraging repeat visits and fostering long-term relationships through effective communication and a deep understanding of the winery's offerings. Additionally, the shift lead is responsible for adhering to all regulatory compliance measures such as R.A.M.P. policies and PLCB regulations, securing a safe and legal retail environment.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess prior experience in shift-leading or closing in hospitality or retail settings. Training in wine knowledge is provided, though a genuine appreciation for wine is essential. The ideal team member is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask within a lively setting. Flexibility to cover shifts as needed and availability for weekend work are also critical to the success of this role.
