Job Qualifications
- Experience in a kitchen or foodservice environment preferred but not required
- knowledge of Vermont food safety regulations and practices
- ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff
- attention to detail to ensure food quality and consistency
- physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently during peak times
- strong communication skills with team members and supervisors
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components for dishes according to the menu
- ensure all ingredients are fresh and stored properly
- follow recipe specifications and portion control guidelines
- cook food items according to standardized recipes ensuring consistency and quality
- assemble dishes according to chef's or customer's specifications
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen including utensils and equipment
- follow Vermont health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation
- monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving deliveries
- report equipment malfunctions to management
- work efficiently with other kitchen and service staff
- ensure clear communication between back of house and front of house staff
- assist in training new back of house staff
- comply with all food safety regulations
- maintain knowledge of allergy protocols and dietary restrictions
- follow workplace safety procedures to avoid accidents and injuries
- clock in to shift on time and ready to work
