Job Description
The hiring establishment is a hotel, focused on delivering excellent guest services and ensuring smooth front desk operations. This hotel prides itself on creating memorable experiences for its guests by offering not only comfortable accommodations but also outstanding customer service. The hotel operates in a dynamic, guest-oriented environment that values professionalism, efficiency, and teamwork. With a commitment to quality hospitality, the establishment fosters a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel appreciated and well cared for. The work environment supports employees with clear guidelines and an emphasis on effective communication and problem-solving skills.
The role available is that of a Front Desk Agent, which plays a critical part in the hotel’s daily operations. This is an hourly, in-office position paying $18.00 per hour in USD. The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting and checking guests in and out efficiently and courteously. The agent will assist with pre-registration and manage reservations, including blocking rooms and handling special requests. This position requires the employee to have a comprehensive understanding of the hotel's front office computer system or manual system to perform various transactions accurately, even those that are not routine. Cash handling is also a key responsibility, including receiving payments via cash, checks, or credit cards and managing change correctly.
The Front Desk Agent must be knowledgeable about the hotel’s rates, discounts, and policies surrounding cancellations and relocations. Working knowledge of reservation procedures is essential, including the ability to process same-day reservations swiftly, ideally within two minutes. The role involves a mix of administrative duties and guest service activities, requiring multitasking and a friendly, professional demeanor. The ideal candidate will work effectively as part of a team that strives to provide guests with exceptional experiences. They must be adaptable to varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating a strong work ethic and self-initiative.
Additionally, this position demands certain physical requirements typical of an office-based job. The agent should be able to work prolonged hours at a desk, use fine motor skills for keyboarding and operating office equipment, and occasionally stand, walk, or carry light loads. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital for effective guest interaction and coordination with team members. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role. Overall, this opportunity is well suited for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and are committed to contributing positively to the hotel’s reputation and guest satisfaction.
