The role of Manager, Events at The Hollywood Reporter involves supporting the events and custom content team to bring the brand to life through memorable, high-impact experiences aimed at industry professionals and consumers alike. This position is critical for ensuring flawless event execution, seamless production processes, and alignment with the brand's premium standards, all while driving revenue growth. The Manager will work closely with senior event staff to handle all facets of event planning and execution, including ideation, vendor management, production timelines, legal and financial coordination, and client servicing.
This role requires a nuanced blend of creativity, strategic thinking, meticulous planning, and high judgment, extending beyond typical event management responsibilities to encompass P&L management, contract reviews, sponsor relations, and production support. Candidates should possess a passion for media, entertainment, arts, culture, and current events, along with proficiency in the latest technology and marketing tools that help deliver successful events and brand partnerships. The position demands strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Editorial, Marketing, Social, Legal, Finance, PR, and Production, ensuring the creation of integrated programs that enhance brand presence and meet financial objectives.
Additional vital components of this role include managing complex logistics for both virtual and in-person events such as screenings and sponsor activations, coordinating talent travel and scheduling, overseeing budgets and financial reconciliation, and continually seeking innovative event opportunities. The role is designed for highly organized, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in high-energy, fast-paced environments and can handle multiple priorities with a proactive approach to problem solving. This position also expects employees to work predominantly onsite with flexible remote work options to maintain team cohesion.

Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of event and content production experience including live and virtual events with food and beverage, audio/visual, and vendor management logistics
- strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage P&Ls and revenue models
- strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in media, entertainment, or agency environments preferred
- proven ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
- comfortable working in a very fast-paced, high-energy environment with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- highly organized and detail-oriented ensuring seamless execution of events and projects
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- proficiency in G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills preferred
Job Duties
- Provide direct support to senior event department staff from planning and ideation to execution and post-event wrap-up
- assist in tracking and managing budgets, expenses and financial reconciliation in partnership with Finance and Accounts Payable
- support the team in managing partnerships with brands and vendors to optimize event budgets and create cost-saving efficiencies
- conduct research on event venues and third-party vendors, compiling recommendations and assisting with vendor negotiations as directed
- coordinate end-to-end production of virtual and in-person screening events, sponsor activations and content capture from concept through execution and post-event recaps
- facilitate timely feedback collection, track approvals, and manage event collateral
- support senior team members in identifying and developing new event opportunities
- perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned to assist leadership
- under the direction of senior staff, manage event logistics including venue selection, food and beverage, rentals, staging, lighting, A/V, security, transportation, staffing, and load-in/load-out schedules
- coordinate talent logistics including travel, scheduling, riders, and on-site coordination
- work cross-functionally with Sales, Editorial, Marketing, Social, Legal, Finance, PR, and Production teams to execute integrated programs
