The Food and Beverage Server role at AC Hotel Dayton is a key position focused on providing excellent customer service while maintaining operational standards of food and beverage service. This position requires availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. As a Food and Beverage Server, you will be responsible for taking guest orders, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as light meals, all executed courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications.

Maintaining cleanliness and stock levels of the outlet and equipment is critical to ensure the operational smoothness and safety standards of the department. The role also involves adhering to food and beverage safety and quality standards that align with hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications. The Food and Beverage Server ensures compliance with daily operational procedures while upholding safe working conditions within the department.

In addition to operational duties, this role requires excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with the General Manager, other department managers, supervisors, and fellow staff members. Addressing and resolving guest concerns related to the food and beverage department is an essential aspect of the job, highlighting the importance of exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills.

This position is ideal for individuals with at least one year of experience in the restaurant or food and beverage field who meet the minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages. It demands the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals accurately. High school graduation or equivalent is required, with some college preferred. Additional training or certification such as ServSafe or other food safety programs and alcohol awareness (e.g., TIPS) is considered a plus. Knowledge of food and beverage cost controls, basic math skills for accurate calculations, bilingual abilities (English/Spanish), and awareness of local attractions to enhance guest experience provide candidates with an advantage.

Job Duties

  • Take orders prepare and serve alcoholic non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications
  • Maintain stock supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintain food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel Shaner and Franchise specifications
  • Respond and handle guest related issues pertaining to the department
  • Communicate with General Manager all other Department Managers Supervisors and Staff
  • Other duties as assigned
