Job Requirements
- Minimum one year experience in a full service restaurant
- must have WA state Food Worker Card or the ability to obtain one within 14 days from the date of hire
- must have WA state Mandatory Alcohol Service Training (MAST) permit or the ability to obtain one within 60 days from the date of hire
- ability to lift at least 40 pounds or equivalent to a tray of eight to ten entrees over shoulder
- able to understand and communicate in English
- basic server etiquette
- attention to detail

Job Duties
- Taking guests' orders by being friendly and courteous while suggestive selling
- picking up the food from the kitchen quickly and serving the food orders to the guests efficiently
- serving cocktails quickly and efficiently
- setting up, and maintaining cleanliness of assigned section of dining room
- thoroughly understanding menu, prices, food preparation and ingredients, as well as the specials for the day/evening
- promoting guest relations by greeting the guest warmly, engaging the guest in conversation, and using the guests name whenever possible
- taking orders by up-selling every course by suggesting side orders, premium liquors, and wines, and presenting the dessert cart to every guest
- serving food by stacking the food tray properly
- handling the loaded food tray by using whole body to lift, and supporting the tray on hand while using shoulder to stabilize
- clearing the tables by assisting the service assistants and crumbing the chairs
- following proper dish room procedures by sorting glass, linen, silver and china in separate bins
- completing all side work including filling all salt and pepper shakers, storing all condiments, cleaning section, and folding napkins for next shift
- efficiently handling all cash and charge transactions for guests
- maintaining a high accountability with respect to the cash bank assigned
- completing a bank audit and drop after each shift worked
- claiming tips each shift
- perform other duties as requested
- reading, understanding and practicing hotel policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- maintaining a high level of professional attitude, behavior and ethics towards guests and co-workers
- presenting a professional appearance by dressing in proper uniform and using proper grooming techniques according to the Employee Handbook
- knowing and actively practicing the hotel's emergency procedures and loss prevention guidelines
- making the guest feel welcome by maintaining a warm and professional attitude at all times
- provoking discovery with each guest
- maintaining positive employee relations in a supportive, team environment
- actively practicing safety procedures in the restaurant
- communicating effectively with managers about needs and concerns
- using Alcohol Awareness Training to monitor consumption of alcohol and ensure that all beverage service is done in a safe and responsible manner
