Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sports management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in arena or venue management
  • Proven track record in financial management and driving NOI growth
  • Ability to manage diverse event types and client expectations
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendors
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with event management and budgeting software
  • Availability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in venue management or arena operations
  • Proven success in driving revenue growth and managing profit and loss statements
  • Knowledge of ice-related and non-ice event operations
  • Experience in business development and client relationship management
  • Strong leadership skills with team and vendor management experience
  • Financial acumen including data analysis and revenue forecasting
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with event management software, CRM tools, budgeting software, and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities for ice and non-ice programming
  • Build strategic partnerships with sports leagues, entertainment promoters, and corporate clients
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and new business avenues
  • Develop and execute business plans focused on net operating income growth
  • Monitor profit and loss performance and prepare financial reports
  • Optimize staffing and resource allocation to reduce operational costs
  • Oversee event coordination ensuring flawless execution from booking to breakdown
  • Collaborate with marketing and guest services to enhance event experiences
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational policies
  • Serve as lead contact for high-value clients and develop tailored proposals
  • Create and implement sales strategies targeting market expansion
  • Attend industry networking events to generate leads
  • Develop a balanced calendar of programming to maximize facility usage
  • Partner with marketing to promote programs through targeted campaigns
  • Recommend improvements to arena infrastructure and guest services
  • Lead and develop arena operations and event staff
  • Establish standard operating procedures for event management and vendor relations
  • Manage vendor contracts, rental agreements, and equipment procurement
