Located in Sherman, TX, the Air Liquide team offers an exciting opportunity for a TGCM Operations Technician to join their Total Gas & Chemical Management (TGCM) Operations group. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective management of gases and chemicals essential to semiconductor manufacturing. TGCM technicians work with specialized gas and chemical distribution equipment, operating and maintaining these critical systems 24/7 without interruption to meet the high standards required by semiconductor industry customers. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $22.00, coupled with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees’ health, well-being, and future security from the first day of employment.

The TGCM Operations Technician position involves hands-on responsibilities including operating and maintaining various types of liquid bulk and specialty gas delivery systems, performing intermediate troubleshooting and repairs, and conducting daily rounds for safety inspections and system monitoring. The technician will also handle chemical tote, drum and gas cylinder change-outs and manage bulk gas and chemical transfers, always adhering to strict safety and operational standards.

This role also demands active participation in emergency response, quality control reporting, and incident management to maintain seamless operation adhering to quality and safety standards. The candidate will contribute to developing site-specific work instructions, support training for junior technicians and contractors, and ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) protocols.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or 5+ years of experience
  • 2-3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • evidence of previous work in a successful team environment
  • knowledge of all proper reporting procedures per onsite operations policy including product acceptance criteria, tank fill, inventory and material usage, monitoring, safety parameters and personnel requirements
  • electro-mechanical aptitude
  • display aptitude for controlling an emergency situation and coordinating problem solving actions
  • able to understand and abide by stringent safety rules
  • demonstrate ability to train junior technicians
  • ability to lift 60 lbs
  • ability to stand/walk up to 11 hours per day
  • ability to operate hydraulic foot pump (55 gallon drums - drums could be up to 500 lbs)
  • job requires constant bending to successfully complete shift tasks (validating information, checking systems, etc.)
  • ability to wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks

Job Duties

  • Maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
  • perform intermediate gas/chemical troubleshooting and repair of delivery equipment
  • perform daily rounds including recording readings, completing safety inspections, monitoring online gas and chemical systems, verifying toxic gas monitoring operations, and completing chemical tote/drum and gas cylinder change-outs
  • monitor and understand correct liquid bulk delivery procedures for each product on site
  • perform bulk gas and chemical trailer transfers
  • provide information for and initiate proper reporting procedures per on-site policies including quality incident reports, product acceptance, tank fill, inventory and material usage, bulk gas analysis, analyzer calibration, monitoring, safety parameters, and personnel requirements
  • assist in the identification and resolution of gas/chemical-related manufacturing problems
  • active member of the Emergency Response Team
  • satisfactorily complete TGCM Tech 6 local OJT and qualification requirements
  • issue hazardous work permits
  • restart all high purity gas and/or chemical delivery equipment
  • participate in customer and Air Liquide programs including safety, training, operations, and preventive maintenance
  • support training of TGCM contractors and Tech 5 employees
  • assist in the development and maintenance of applicable site-specific work instructions
  • comply with all applicable HS&E standards including PPE, forklift operations, lock out/tag out program, confined space entry
  • complete assigned tasks per existing procedures
  • perform minor analytical procedures and/or sampling procedures
  • accountable for the safety of all persons and general public surrounding facilities
