Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
  • availability for full-time work Monday through Friday within 7 AM to 5:30 PM
  • ability to work in remote and rugged environments
  • willingness to travel across different locations in Texas
  • passing the NWCG Wildland Firefighter Type 2 physical fitness test
  • willingness to undergo required safety and professional trainings
  • commitment to teamwork and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • interest in environmental and conservation careers
  • ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • physical fitness to carry up to 50 lbs and walk uneven terrain
  • basic computer and smartphone application skills
  • willingness to learn and work as part of a team
  • ability to commit to a 6-month full-time service term

Job Duties

  • conduct invasive plant species removal
  • create and maintain trails and boardwalks
  • prepare and assist with prescribed burns
  • engage in public outreach
  • collect data including GIS data
  • remove debris from public lands
  • perform general landscaping of public areas
