Job Description

Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk) is a globally recognized leader specializing in explosion analysis, structural design, and risk management. The company offers comprehensive consulting, engineering, laboratory services, and full-scale facility testing to an array of government agencies and private sector clients involved with hazardous operations and materials. Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, BakerRisk has built a reputation for its expertise in explosion consequence studies and testing, making it a trusted partner for clients requiring detailed risk assessments and safety solutions. The firm combines scientific rigor with innovative testing and engineering methodologies to deliver precise, actionable insights that help clients manage and mitigate risks associated with potentially explosive environments.

BakerRisk is currently seeking a full-time entry-level engineer to join its Blast Effects section in San Antonio. This role focuses on supporting explosion consequence studies and the testing of explosions and related phenomena. The position offers an exceptional opportunity for hands-on experience in real-world explosive event analyses and risk management projects. The role requires a mechanical engineering degree or a related discipline, with preference given to candidates holding a master's or doctoral degree. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines, and adaptability to work in diverse environments such as test ranges, offices, industrial sites, and accidental explosion sites.

This job requires significant travel, anticipated to be up to 50 percent of working days, primarily to client sites within the United States and BakerRisk test facilities near San Antonio. The company offers a competitive salary and a robust benefits package that includes holiday, vacation, and sick leave pay, medical and dental insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and the potential for a year-end bonus. BakerRisk is committed to equal employment opportunities and maintaining a drug-free workplace, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment for all qualified applicants. This position is ideal for ambitious engineering graduates eager to build a career at the forefront of explosion risk analysis and safety engineering, gaining exposure to cutting-edge testing and consulting projects within a supportive and innovative work environment.
