Job Description

US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, delivering a broad range of products and services that help restaurants and foodservice operators succeed. As a large and well-established company, US Foods is dedicated to providing high-quality products, innovative solutions, and exceptional customer service. The company operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where customer satisfaction and operational excellence are top priorities. They offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth, making them an attractive employer in the foodservice industry.

The role of Territory Manager at US Foods is a pivotal one, focused on building and maintaining strong customer relationships in a team-based selling environment. This position requires an individual who can be a true customer champion—guiding clients through ordering platforms, offering menu consultations, and recommending products and pricing strategies to ensure customer success. The Territory Manager drives sales by increasing case growth, acquiring new business, and delivering tailored sales presentations that resonate with each customer's unique needs. Effective time and territory management are essential to meet the demands of the job.

Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role, as Territory Managers work closely with Specialists, marketing, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure seamless product delivery and top penetration opportunities. The role also demands insight-driven leadership, utilizing market intelligence, attending trade shows, and networking through various channels to identify and pursue new business prospects. Additionally, Territory Managers are responsible for managing delivery schedules and troubleshooting order processing issues, ensuring that the logistics side of the business operates smoothly.

The Territory Manager position requires frequent travel within an assigned territory, making regular site visits and check-ins to foster strong customer relationships. This outdoor and variable weather working environment demands flexibility and resilience. While this role does not include direct supervision of other team members, it plays a vital role in the overall success of the company through dedicated customer management and sales growth.

US Foods seeks candidates with a minimum of one year of sales experience, preferably in the foodservice, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality sectors. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle record. Excellent communication and presentation skills, coupled with a competitive spirit and problem-solving abilities, will help the Territory Manager thrive. Technological proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce, is also a plus. Physical ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs is necessary due to the nature of the job.

This role offers a competitive salary complemented by a market-leading incentive program. Employees benefit from a supportive and dynamic team-based selling environment, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance starting from day one, as well as 401K plan options, paid time off, employee stock purchase plans, life insurance, and mileage reimbursement. US Foods values its employees and provides ample opportunities for career development within a thriving industry. Compensation is based on relevant experience, education, specific skills, and location, with additional incentive pay eligibility.
