Job Description

Terrain Cafe is a chef-driven, garden-to-table restaurant that celebrates seasonal ingredients and the art of gathering through thoughtful menus and warm, welcoming spaces rooted in craftsmanship and heartfelt hospitality. As part of the vibrant URBN family, which includes popular brands like Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters, Terrain Cafe offers a unique dining experience that highlights the freshest local produce and seasonal flavors. The restaurant is known for its dedication to quality, creativity, and community, providing guests with an exceptional culinary adventure in a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This is a full-time position offering an hourly wage ranging from USD 19.00 to USD 21.00. The role is ideal for cooks who thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and who enjoy working in a scratch kitchen setting that demands precision, speed, and versatility. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meats, seafood, vegetables, and other menu items precisely according to recipe and plating standards. You will execute dishes across multiple kitchen stations, including Saute, Grill, and Oven, while also supporting Salad, Pastry, and Prep stations as needed.

This role requires not only culinary skills but also a strong sense of teamwork and communication, as you will be coordinating closely with both the back-of-house and front-of-house teams to deliver an outstanding guest experience. The Line Cook must maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation, while also ensuring their station remains clean, well-stocked, and organized to enable efficient service. Food safety and sanitation protocols are critical, including proper storage and FIFO (first in, first out) rotation methods.

In addition to daily cooking responsibilities, the Line Cook will assist in cleaning, closing procedures, and station breakdowns using detailed checklists. You will have opportunities to support onboarding and training of new team members, helping to foster a collaborative and skilled kitchen environment. Occasionally, duties may extend to other kitchen roles such as dishwashing, prep, or expo, provided you receive the appropriate training.

This position requires physical stamina, as the ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods is essential. You must also be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Flexible availability is preferred, which may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays to meet the demands of a busy, event-driven setting. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and professional under pressure, motivated by a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences through food quality and creativity.

Joining Terrain Cafe means becoming part of an esteemed culinary community that values craftsmanship, seasonality, and heartfelt hospitality. Employees enjoy the benefits of working within the URBN umbrella, with access to perks, discounts, and a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Terrain Cafe is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace, celebrating diversity, and providing equal employment opportunities for all. Explore opportunities for growth, cross-training, and advancement within the URBN family as you build your culinary career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
