- Successful completion of Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan orders
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods and responds promptly to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows their instructions
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts, and floors
- Maintains kitchen, teppan cooking areas, equipment, and food storage areas clean, sanitary, and organized
- Reports kitchen equipment or maintenance issues as needed
- Prepares foods according to company portion standards and recipe specifications
- Adheres to proper food presentation and garnishing guidelines
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods following health and safety regulations
- Uses knives and kitchen utensils to prepare food
- Adheres to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses a courteous manner with guests
- Notifies management of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in guest special occasion celebrations and may photograph guests
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
