  • Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan orders
  • Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
  • Provides guests with information about Benihana foods and responds promptly to guest requests
  • Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows their instructions
  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment
  • Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts, and floors
  • Maintains kitchen, teppan cooking areas, equipment, and food storage areas clean, sanitary, and organized
  • Reports kitchen equipment or maintenance issues as needed
  • Prepares foods according to company portion standards and recipe specifications
  • Adheres to proper food presentation and garnishing guidelines
  • Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods following health and safety regulations
  • Uses knives and kitchen utensils to prepare food
  • Adheres to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
  • Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses a courteous manner with guests
  • Notifies management of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
  • Participates in guest special occasion celebrations and may photograph guests
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
