Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred
- Current American Culinary Federation certification as Executive Pastry Chef or qualification to obtain certification
- ServSafe certification
- Ten years of baking industry experience or two years of baking instruction and eight years of industry experience
- Proficiency in artisan breads, viennoiserie, cakes, and plated desserts
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
- Two years of budget management experience
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Commitment to equity and inclusion
- Ability to obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification as a condition of continued employment
Job Qualifications
- Current American Culinary Federation certification as Executive Pastry Chef or qualifications to obtain certification
- ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association
- Ten years of baking industry experience or two years as Baking Instructor plus eight years of industry experience
- Expertise in artisan breads, viennoiserie, cakes, and plated desserts
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Two years of budget management experience
Job Duties
- Instruct all classes using active learning approaches that engage and facilitate student learning
- Advise and assist students in their educational and career development
- Enhance teaching and learning techniques
- Pursue professional development activities
- Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements
- Participate in program, curriculum development, and assessment activities
- Collaborate with colleagues, businesses, advisory committees, and educational partners to create unique learning opportunities
- Participate in decision-making processes by serving on Department and College committees
- Work cooperatively on department and college-wide projects
- Assume leadership roles including faculty supervision, administrative duties, and student advising in the department
