Job Description

Clark College is currently inviting applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Professional Baking and Pastry Arts program. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the growth and excellence of the program by delivering high-quality instruction in foundational and advanced baking and pastry disciplines. Key teaching responsibilities include courses on baking techniques, breads, cakes, plated desserts, bakery management, sanitation, safety, and other relevant industry topics. This position involves flexible teaching assignments which may include day, evening, and online class formats to accommodate a diverse student body.

Starting salary for this position is $80,677 for a 173-day contract, with potential for advancement and additional compensation for summer, moonlight teaching, and stipends. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred
- Current American Culinary Federation certification as Executive Pastry Chef or qualification to obtain certification
- ServSafe certification
- Ten years of baking industry experience or two years of baking instruction and eight years of industry experience
- Proficiency in artisan breads, viennoiserie, cakes, and plated desserts
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
- Two years of budget management experience
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Commitment to equity and inclusion
- Ability to obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification as a condition of continued employment
Job Qualifications
- Current American Culinary Federation certification as Executive Pastry Chef or qualifications to obtain certification
- ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association
- Ten years of baking industry experience or two years as Baking Instructor plus eight years of industry experience
- Expertise in artisan breads, viennoiserie, cakes, and plated desserts
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Two years of budget management experience
