Job Description
The Academy of Charter Schools is a distinguished public PK-12 educational institution situated in Westminster, Colorado, committed to providing a rigorous and content-rich curriculum that encourages students to explore their strengths and passions while aiming for the highest academic standards. The Academy prides itself on fostering a community where diversity, equity, and inclusion are not only valued but actively embraced, creating an environment where students from all backgrounds can thrive. The school is dedicated to helping students grow into college-ready, exemplary citizens by combining academic excellence with personal empowerment, supporting lifelong success. The Academy’s educational approach revolves around three core principles: Prepare, Explore, and Empower. These pillars guide the institution’s decision-making, instructional strategies, and school culture, ensuring a vertically aligned learning experience from the earliest grades through high school.
The temporary School Receptionist role available at The Academy offers an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of this mission-driven educational community from August through October, with a potential for extension based on the school’s evolving needs. This full-time position operates during school hours from 7:15 am to 3:45 pm and offers an hourly wage starting at $20.00, commensurate with experience. The Receptionist serves as a crucial front-line presence in the school’s daily operations, handling visitor interactions, managing front office activities, and providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and staff.
As a School Receptionist at The Academy, you will be responsible for ensuring a welcoming and professional environment at the front reception area, acting as an ambassador for the school. Your duties will include greeting and assisting visitors, managing security procedures such as screening guests and maintaining visitor logs, answering phone calls and voicemails, and facilitating communication between staff and classrooms. The role also involves clerical support, project assistance, and handling non-classroom related fee collections at the North Campus under established finance protocols.
This position requires a friendly yet detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, and an unwavering commitment to professional conduct and confidentiality. You will also collaborate with receptionists from other campuses to maintain consistent practices and contribute positively to the school’s overall culture.
The Academy values employees who embody its mission, vision, and values, demonstrating a people-first orientation, a growth mindset, belief in high achievement for all students, and a passion for collaborative success. The culture emphasizes innovation, kindness, data-driven practices, flexibility, and a sense of humor. Employees are expected to support a joyful, inclusive learning environment and foster strong, positive relationships within the school community.
The school offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including PERA retirement benefits and various employee-paid leave plans. Prospective candidates must undergo a criminal background check and acquire CPR and First Aid certifications after hire. The Academy is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusiveness in all aspects of employment.
This temporary Receptionist position not only provides a chance to contribute to the success of a respected community school but also offers professional growth in a supportive and mission-aligned environment. It is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in educational settings, possess excellent clerical and interpersonal skills, and are eager to make a positive impact in the lives of students and families.
