Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Two to five years related experience and/or training
- Pilots must maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- Must be under seventy years old
- Must hold commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- Must hold ATP rating in category
- Must hold first or second class FAA medical certificate
- Must have flown in category for commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, and company policies
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years related experience and/or training
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2000 total flight hours with minimum of 1500 flight hours in rotor wing category
- 1000 hours PIC in rotor wing category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 200 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night flight as PIC or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours NVG time
- 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in rotor wing category
- Commercial and instrument rating for the category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category meets this requirement
- First or second class FAA medical certificate required
- Pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Complete pre-flight inspections before every flight verifying airworthiness
- Perform thorough walk-around inspections of the aircraft prior to flight and after landing
- Serve as final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all aircraft and medical systems including backup aircraft
- Ensure medical flight team is familiar and comfortable with medical interiors and systems
- Complete all required flight and operational documentation
- Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice according to exacting standards
- Participate regularly in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees and community outreach
- Perform other duties as assigned
