Job Description

The Temporary Events Manager position in Tulsa, OK, offered as a 12-week assignment with a Monday through Thursday 8-5 work schedule, paying between $25 and $30 per hour, is a dynamic role designed for an experienced professional who thrives in managing complex event logistics and operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in event coordination or management
  • Ability to work Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the 12-week assignment
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a typical office environment with occasional outdoor exposure

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, communications, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events and coordinating multiple vendors
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to analyze data and provide strategic recommendations
  • Proficiency with event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience negotiating contracts with service providers and suppliers

Job Duties

  • Coordinate activities of staff, convention personnel, or clients to make arrangements for group meetings, events, or conventions
  • Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events, such as meetings, conferences, and conventions
  • Review event bills for accuracy and approve payment
  • Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security
  • Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs
  • Confer with staff at a chosen event site to coordinate details
  • Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements
