Job Description
The Temporary Events Manager position in Tulsa, OK, offered as a 12-week assignment with a Monday through Thursday 8-5 work schedule, paying between $25 and $30 per hour, is a dynamic role designed for an experienced professional who thrives in managing complex event logistics and operations. This role is based within the Communications department of a prominent organization, working closely with internal teams and external clients to ensure the seamless execution of various Chamber events. The employer is known for its commitment to community engagement and economic development, making this a valuable opportunity for someone passionate about event management that supports broader social and business initiatives.
As an Events Manager, you will take tactical and strategic responsibility for supporting the Director of Events by overseeing all facets of event planning and execution. This includes managing vendor relationships, coordinating logistics, controlling budgets, and ensuring that every detail of various event types—such as Government Affairs, Community Development, Economic Development, and Resource Development—is executed flawlessly. The role requires a hands-on approach as the primary event-day lead who monitors event timelines and coordinates the efforts of staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and consistency in service delivery. Independent decision-making is key, particularly in adjusting budgets and prioritizing resources while maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
The Events Manager will also have strategic input, aligning event programming with the organization's goals, driving continuous improvement through post-event analysis and feedback, and contributing to future event planning efforts. This role demands excellent project management skills, as you will track event logistics and oversee team coordination with a solution-oriented mindset. The position involves both indoor office work and occasional outdoor duties, requiring some physical activity such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds and handling event materials. This is an excellent short-term engagement for a skilled professional eager to contribute to meaningful events that support community and business development objectives with a reputable employer recognized for its equal opportunity policies and commitment to quality service provision.
