Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license accepted by the State of Utah at the time of hire
  • Must obtain a State of Utah driver’s license within six months of hire if not currently held
  • Ability to handle animals safely and confidently
  • Comfortable lifting, walking, sitting, kneeling, and bending as needed
  • Able to work nights and weekends as required
  • Pass background check via fingerprinting and continuous RAP Back program enrollment
  • Clear drug test result prior to employment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull loads up to 50 pounds regularly

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service
  • Experience with canines and felines in a professional setting preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse community members
  • Basic computer skills including email management and social media proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities

Job Duties

  • Facilitate successful adoptions and foster placements by working with potential adopters and foster families
  • Coordinate meet and greet sessions to ensure compatibility between animals and families
  • Provide welcoming and supportive customer service to all visitors and potential adopters
  • Review and verify adoption applications and assist with finalizing the adoption process
  • Collaborate with adoption staff and volunteers to achieve adoption goals and support program needs
  • Promote adoption and foster placements via social media and community outreach
  • Prepare and distribute adoption supplies to new foster and adoptive families
