Within the University of Notre Dame, the Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division coordinates a wide range of critical functions including event management, hospitality services, and customer support. Three Leaf Catering, part of the university’s hospitality sector, is currently looking to hire temporary banquet servers to join its team. The Temporary Banquet Server role at Three Leaf Catering involves aiding in the set-up and tear down of banquet events while delivering exceptional service to guests. Banquet servers ensure that food and beverages are served promptly and professionally following University and Morris Inn standards. This position requires team-oriented individuals who can work efficiently under the leadership of Banquet Captains or Lead Servers to prepare table settings, assist with food and beverage service, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of event areas and equipment. Temporary banquet servers also help with coffee break service at the Notre Dame Conference Center, contributing to smooth and seamless event experiences.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must adhere to food safety standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time up to 6 hours at a time
  • Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products

Job Duties

  • Prepare table service for functions as per direction of the Banquet Captain or Lead Banquet Server
  • Follow written specifications provided by the events department
  • Participate in equipment removal following meal service
  • Professionally serve banquet functions including serving food, pouring beverages, and handling special requests of guests in accordance with the Morris Inn methods and service standards
  • Follow established guidelines for the safe handling of food
  • Assist with coffee break service at the Notre Dame Conference Center
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and in good working condition
