Job Description
This opportunity is with a reputable restaurant establishment known for delivering excellent food and beverage services in a warm and welcoming environment. The restaurant prides itself on maintaining a clean, sanitary, and well-maintained dining area to enhance customer satisfaction. Operating in a dynamic hospitality setting, the restaurant seeks motivated individuals to uphold these standards while contributing to a seamless guest experience. The employment type is hourly, with a pay rate of 9 dollars per hour plus gratuities, offering an attractive package for entry-level candidates or those with some experience in food and beverage services.
The role requires the candidate to perform a wide variety of duties centered around food and beverage services, short order cooking, operating a point of sale system, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the restaurant. The successful candidate will play a key role in guest interactions, starting with warmly greeting and assisting guests with seating, ensuring that all food and drink orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly, and managing inventory related tasks such as conducting alcohol and food inventories and assisting with orders and re-orders. The role also occasionally requires operating a beverage cart on the golf course and undertaking various cleaning and maintenance responsibilities in the dining and kitchen areas.
A primary focus is on delivering exceptional customer service, which includes greeting guests promptly, aiding with seating, ensuring food and drinks meet satisfactory standards, and managing point of sale transactions accurately. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work all shifts, including opening and closing the establishment, and possess the flexibility to assist with unique operational duties such as golf event management and restaurant setup for groups or tournaments.
The position suits individuals with a high school diploma or GED, although no prior experience is strictly necessary; however, preference is given to those with 1-3 years of experience in food and beverage or a similar role. The candidate must be familiar with bar and liquor laws, customer service best practices, food safety procedures, and restaurant equipment operation. The ability to resolve customer concerns effectively and communicate efficiently with staff and patrons is crucial.
Additionally, the candidate must hold or be able to quickly obtain essential certifications including a valid Class C Texas driver's license, a Food Handler permit, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission certification, and a Server Certificate. The position requires physical stamina to handle the demands of a restaurant environment, including lifting moderate weights, standing for extended periods, and working in potentially brisk or humid conditions. Overall, this role offers a comprehensive entry into the hospitality and food service industry with opportunities to develop skills in customer service, food preparation, inventory management, and event support.
