The Teen Program Coordinator role at the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is a vital position within the Summer Late Night team, aimed at supporting and enriching teen programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to play an instrumental role in youth development by assisting Teen Program Directors in planning, organizing, and delivering a variety of impactful teen programs. The primary responsibilities include collaborating on staff management activities such as interviews, trainings, and meetings, as well as developing lesson plans and curricula to ensure high-quality programming. The Teen Program Coordinator also contributes fresh ideas and resources to enhance Late Nite events and other teen-oriented initiatives. This position is ideal for someone passionate about mentoring youth and fostering leadership among teenagers. The coordinator provides crucial support in leading and recognizing instructors and participants, while also emphasizing safety, progress, and engagement during program sessions. The role includes observing classes to maintain operational excellence and responding to behavioral and interest-based needs of teens to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Additionally, the Teen Program Coordinator assists in program evaluation by reporting successes and areas for improvement to senior leadership. Offering seasonal employment with competitive wages ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour based on qualifications, this role provides up to 35 hours per week, scheduled from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer bachelor's degree in related field
  • One to two years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to use computers and business software
  • Positive attitude and experience with teens
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred
  • Pass background and reference checks
