Job Description
The company hiring for the Team/Crew Leader position operates within the fast-paced restaurant industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality food products and exceptional service to its guests. Known for its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, this establishment values teamwork and effective leadership to maintain a positive and efficient work environment. With an emphasis on training and adherence to company policies, the restaurant ensures that both employees and guests have the best possible experience. As a nonexempt role reporting directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD), this position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their leadership skills in a dynamic setting. The employment status is nonexempt, with a minimum expectation of 30 hours per week, including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, making it ideal for candidates seeking flexible work schedules within the restaurant industry.
The Team/Crew Leader plays a crucial role in supervising and leading basic operational duties to provide quality food products and outstanding service to customers. This position involves direct oversight of various station duties including fountain and frozen desserts, dressing stations, front and back swamp stations, grill operations, switchboard management, expediting, food preparation, and drive-thru services, if applicable. The leader ensures that all stations meet established operational standards through effective leadership and hands-on involvement.
In addition to supervising daily operations, the Team/Crew Leader is responsible for assisting with new employee orientation and ongoing training, ensuring that all team members understand and comply with company policies and procedures. Emphasis is placed on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the restaurant, with duties such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, dishwashing, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying grease traps executed to uphold health and safety standards.
The role also incorporates leadership responsibilities beyond the operational scope, including leading shift meetings to communicate goals and updates, addressing customer and employee complaints or issues by reporting them to the Manager on Duty, and managing inventory by moving and stocking food products weighing up to 50 pounds. The Team/Crew Leader is expected to exhibit strong multi-tasking, decision-making, time management, and conflict resolution abilities to handle the challenges of a busy restaurant environment effectively.
This role requires physical stamina due to the work environment, which involves continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting. The Team/Crew Leader will frequently encounter exposure to heat and hot liquids while cooking, exposure to freezers when stocking food items, and occasional exposure to extreme temperatures based on weather conditions. These physical demands necessitate a candidate who is both physically capable and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
By joining this company as a Team/Crew Leader, candidates will become part of a growing organization that values leadership, teamwork, and customer service excellence. This position provides valuable experience for those seeking to advance within the restaurant industry, offering opportunities to develop supervisory skills and gain comprehensive knowledge of restaurant operations in a supportive and fast-paced setting.
