This specific opportunity is for a position in the Produce Department as a team member responsible for the processing (preparation) and merchandising of fruits and vegetables. The role plays a crucial part in maintaining quality and freshness, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. As a Produce team member, you will perform a variety of functions such as cutting and preparing produce following strict safety and sanitation rules, maintaining product quality according to Whole Foods Market guidelines, running sampling programs, keeping the department clean, and ensuring accurate pricing and signage. You will also be responsible for supporting sales through proper product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising. Your interactions with customers, vendors, and team members need to be courteous, friendly, and efficient at all times, helping to foster a positive company image.

The work environment includes exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperature variations from freezing to warm ambient conditions, and the use of various tools and equipment like knives, box cutters, and electric pallet jacks. The position may also require working flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
