Job Description
Restaurant Brands California is the United States subsidiary of Restaurant Brands New Zealand and one of the largest KFC franchise operators in the country. With 72 locations scattered across Southern California, the company is recognized for its expansive growth and commitment to delivering quality fast-food service rooted in strong company values. The organization emphasizes a recognition-based culture that values teamwork, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The company is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join their team as full-time Team Members. This employment opportunity is at-will, allowing either the employee or employer to terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause or notice, within legal guidelines. The pay range for this position is $20 to $22 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to offering competitive compensation that matches the responsibilities and expectations of the role.
As a Team Member at Restaurant Brands California, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of customer service functions within the restaurant. The primary focus is on operating the cash register to process transactions promptly and accurately. Team Members are responsible not only for ringing up guests and handling payments but also ensuring that every customer departs satisfied with both the service and the accuracy of their order. Beyond transaction handling, the role includes key support tasks such as assembling orders when acting as a Packline operator, helping maintain cleanliness in the dining and restroom areas, and assisting with day-to-day food preparation duties. To excel in this position, candidates should demonstrate a pleasant demeanor, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Additional responsibilities include assisting guests by suggesting meal options and providing upselling where appropriate, maintaining a balanced cash till by adhering to strict cash handling procedures, and abiding by company standards and protocols to fulfill orders efficiently. Employees also contribute to maintaining a sanitary and safe environment by washing dishes during slow periods and prepping side dishes ahead of service times. The role demands flexibility, offering shifts that vary from 5 to 8 hours, including days, evenings, and weekends, thus providing ample opportunities for those seeking adaptable work schedules. In addition to the dynamic and supportive workplace environment, Restaurant Brands California offers employees a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid vacation and sick leave, free shift meals, and an employee discount. This package underscores the company’s dedication to the health, financial security, and overall wellbeing of its team members.
Being a part of Restaurant Brands California means joining a diverse and inclusive workplace that values employees from all backgrounds. The company is proud to uphold equal employment opportunity principles, ensuring fair treatment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. This commitment fosters a welcoming and respectful environment where all staff members can thrive and contribute meaningfully. Candidates with previous customer service or cashier experience in a quick service environment are especially encouraged to apply, alongside those who demonstrate strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and an eagerness for ongoing personal and professional development. Overall, this role is an excellent entry point for individuals looking to build a career in the fast-food industry or those seeking a dependable and rewarding team-oriented role in Southern California.
